Church History:
-Cherry Street General Baptist Church was purchased from the Lutheran People in June of 1966 and commeneced as a mission the first Sunday in September 1966. Lowes Browning was the first pastor.
The church was in bad need of repair and underwent much remodeling.
In Feburary of 1967, the Church was able to become an independent church and was organized with 43 members, 2 Deacons, George Gregory and Ed Boeger, 5 Trustees, Charles Rogers, Charles Gwaltney, Charles Varner, Raymond Crews and Charles White.
